Washington D.C. Leadership Conference

WASHINGTON D.C.- The Washington Leadership Conference attracts over 2,300 students each summer to Washington D.C. and is dedicated to making a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth and career success through agricultural education.  During the conference, Conference Team Leader Kyle Perry is using The Art of Learning to train 15 college-aged facilitators in teaching methodology and in the large group sessions they conduct that are attended by up to 250. The goal is to facilitate the sort of growth and development that occurs when one is able to approach a service experience as a learning opportunity and see and take away the lessons therein.  He says, “We hope to teach students how to become service-oriented leaders. We also hope that they will continue to serve their communities and encourage others to extract the learning principles from service experiences.”
